Summary:
Responsible for leading life-giving ministry geared toward cultivating a community of worship by providing musical development and pastoral care for the worship team. Recruiting, training, developing and nurturing a dynamic volunteer team is the most important priority of this ministry role. The leader of this ministry will express a passion for worship through dynamic teams that display the love of Jesus.
Key Functions:
Worship Service Planning
Responsible for the Spirit-led planning, coordinating, and executing of dynamic worship sets that prioritize experiencing God’s presence and community participation
Responsible for all aspects of Sunday worship execution; including Production Team (AVL)
Volunteers // Team Development
Disciples team members into a deeper relationship with Jesus
Multiplies leadership by recruiting, training, developing and nurturing volunteer leaders and teams
Establishes clear expectations and honest feedback for intentional growth and transformation
Cultivates community among team members outside of Sunday services
Worship Arts
Develops a culture of worship to welcome the presence of God into all of life
Responsible for the development of a six and 12 month plan for worship arts
Collaborates with Lead Pastor and Preaching Team in planning worship services
Maintains oversight of worship across all ministries and church-wide events
Caring for Our Church Community
Exhibits care for the community through relational investment and compassionate love
Engages with Team, Families and Church community
Experience Required: One year volunteer or paid experience in serving on a worship team within a local church. Working knowledge of vocals, band instruments and congregational worship is essential.
Experience Preferred: Two years experience planning and executing music sets, leading and developing volunteer teams of musicians.
Education Required: Training or experience in musical instrument, musical theory and/or voice. No college credit hours required.
Education Preferred: Associates degree (or higher) or two or more years of consistent worship ministry experience may be substituted for a degree.
This position focuses on the development of worship leaders and teams, both in musicality and in spiritual growth and health. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in a church setting.
